Cookie Policy
Effective May 12, 2026This Cookie Policy explains how FirstQuote.ai ("FirstQuote," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit our website or use our services (the "Services"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal information more broadly.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your browser or device when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site's operators. "Similar technologies" include things like pixels, local storage, and software development kits (SDKs) that perform comparable functions. In this policy, we use the word "cookies" to refer to all of these technologies.
2. Why we use cookies
We use cookies to:
- Keep you signed in and secure your account;
- Remember your preferences and settings;
- Understand how the Services are used so we can improve them;
- Measure the performance of our marketing; and
- Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.
3. Categories of cookies we use
The cookies on our Services fall into the following categories:
3.1 Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are required for the Services to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually set in response to actions you take that amount to a request for service, such as signing in, filling in forms, or setting your privacy preferences. Examples include our session cookie, the "remember me" cookie used to keep you signed in, and cross-site request forgery (CSRF) tokens used to protect form submissions. You can set your browser to block these cookies, but parts of the Services will not work.
3.2 Performance and analytics cookies
These cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of the Services. They help us understand which pages are the most and least popular and how visitors move around the site. The information these cookies collect is aggregated and, where possible, does not directly identify you.
3.3 Functional cookies
These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalization, such as remembering your language, region, or display preferences. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have added to our pages. If you disable these cookies, some or all of these features may not function properly.
3.4 Targeting and advertising cookies
These cookies may be set through our Services by our advertising partners. They may be used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant advertisements on other sites. They do not store directly identifying information but are based on uniquely identifying your browser and device. If you do not allow these cookies, you will experience less targeted advertising.
4. Third-party cookies
Some cookies on the Services are set by third parties, such as analytics providers, advertising networks, payment processors, and embedded content providers. We do not control these third parties or their use of cookies. You should review the privacy and cookie notices of those parties to understand how they collect and use your information.
5. How long cookies last
Cookies on the Services are either:
- Session cookies, which exist only while your browser is open and are automatically deleted when you close it; or
- Persistent cookies, which remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them. Persistent cookies are used to recognize you when you return to the Services.
6. Your choices
You can control and manage cookies in several ways. Please note that removing or blocking cookies may impact your experience, and parts of the Services may no longer be fully accessible.
- Cookie preferences. Where available, you can use our cookie preferences tool to accept or reject non-essential cookies and update your choices at any time. We are working to make this preferences tool available across the Services; until then, you can control cookies through your browser as described below.
- Browser settings. Most browsers let you view, manage, delete, and block cookies for a website. Refer to your browser's help documentation for details. Be aware that these settings apply to the browser you are using, so you may need to adjust them on each browser and device you use.
- Opt-out tools. For advertising cookies, you can learn more and opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies through industry tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info), the Network Advertising Initiative (optout.networkadvertising.org), and the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (youronlinechoices.eu).
7. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is no industry-standard way to respond to DNT signals, and we do not currently respond to them. We continue to monitor developments in this area.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the cookies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the Services or by other reasonable means. The "Effective" date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised.
9. Contact us
